The children of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd prepare to place their Advent rocks

The children at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd celebrated Epiphany Sunday on Jan. 6 by placing rocks they painted during the Advent season in downtown areas along Main and Broad streets.

Each Sunday in Advent, the children learned about words symbolized by the candles on the Advent wreath: joy, peace, love and hope. During the four Sunday school hours, each child painted and decorated several rocks with the word for that week's Advent meditation.
