Transylvania County Schools Needs Bus Drivers

Extended stop-arms, seat belts, multiple cameras and emissions control systems make Transylvania County school buses among the safest in North Carolina.

Transylvania County Schools is now seeking new bus drivers to earn their commercial driver's license and begin driving as substitutes or regular route drivers. A free training course will be offered in Brevard from Jan. 22-24. Registration is open by calling (828) 885-7399.

Harmony Budd, a DMV representative, will conduct a three-day training session on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, Jan. 22 to 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Transylvania County Schools Education Center on Rosenwald Lane. A required three-day road training session will be scheduled for a later date.
