Officials Concerned By Dead Deer In East Fork Area

Sixteen shot dead deer were found recently, left on the side of the road in the East Fork community, according to David Whitmire.

Whitmire, owner of Headwaters Outfitters and chair of the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission, told the Transylvania Natural Resources Council (TNRC) recently during a regular meeting that he could ignore someone poaching deer to feed their family, but leaving dead deer on the roadside would not be tolerated.
