Georgia Ann Reid Fowler

Georgia Ann Reid Fowler, 85, of Cashiers, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday Jan. 16, 2019.

A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Ethel Reid. Along with her husband of 63 years, Adrion, they owned and operated Cashiers Hardware Store for more than 37 years.

She was a member of Cashiers Baptist Church, where she enjoyed directing the youth choir for over 20 years. She was also on the Highland-Cashiers hospital board as well as a member of the Glenville-Cashiers Rescue Squad Auxiliary.

She enjoyed clogging and clogged all over the country, as well as at the White House, on the Jimmy Dean Show, Carnegie Hall and The Grand Ole Opry.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her three sisters and three of her brothers.

She is survived by her children, Nancy (Jimmy) McCall, of Cashiers, Susan (Rick) Miles, also of Cashiers, Kim (Mike) Watt, of Kennesaw, Ga. and Bubba (Gina) Fowler Jr., of Cashiers; nine grandchildren, Ernie Ashe, Cheyenne Fox, Nicholas Miles, Wesley Watt, Kyle Fowler, Austin Watt, Garrett Fowler, Adriann McCall and Mary-Katherine Watt; four great-grandchildren, Cristian Mireles, Austin Mireles, Kylie Eason and Landon Fowler; and two brothers, Hilton and Bob Reid.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at Cashiers Baptist Church.

The family received friends Friday, Jan. 18, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the church.

Burial was in Hamburg Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
