Council Hears Complaints About Flag - Brevard, NC

During Tuesday’s Brevard City Council, local NAACP officials asked the city to revisit the legalities of displaying the Confederate flag at public events, but they ran up against the protections on free speech laid out in the U.S. Constitution.

Last June, local National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) officials came before council after reports that there were Confederate flags displayed during the Memorial Day parade.
