Mutilating Trees

The oldest, most beautiful Babylon willow ever seen in this county has been mutilated. I had been grooming the land to bear traditional medicinal plants and that willow was one of them. Oh, it will live, but the branches they lopped off and left to hang ragged, jagged and broken are a blot of unnecessary ugliness upon a previously beautiful view.

We refugees come here from the city seeking the beauty of trees, the comfort of fresh healing air, the silence and serenity of a clean, stable environment, but Duke Energy destroys it.
