'Time Out' For Congress

February 14, 2019

All indications from recent events in Washington point to absolutely nothing of substance will be accomplished during the next two years to solve the many problems our country now faces.

Those we have sent there on both sides of the aisle have become totally polarized. Neither side is willing to meet somewhere in the middle in order to reach a compromise.

So, since nothing can be accomplished, why don’t we declare a “time out,” bring everyone home until the 2020 elections are finalized and start all over again?

The furloughed politicians will have the opportunity to really learn how voters think, to calm their anger, to re-examine their extreme positions, both right and left, and, hopefully, to come to the understanding that achieving half of something is a great deal more beneficial than nothing of everything.
