Local Now Has 'Wheels To Work'

Patricia Corriveau, of Brevard, checks out her Wheels to Work car from Sharing House. The program examines cars donated by the community and gets them into good working order, then awards the cars to deserving Sharing House neighbors, such as Patricia, who will use it to get to her job in Arden and to get her oldest son to his many doctor appointments in Asheville.

Patricia Corriveau of Brevard has what you might call "a full plate."

Aside from having to beg rides or borrow a car every day to get to work in Arden, her eldest son is autistic and has epilepsy, too, making him completely dependent on her.

Not having a dependable ride to work has other drawbacks for her.

Without a car, she is unable to handle routine errands that the rest of us never think twice about, like buying groceries, picking up prescriptions and getting her son to his doctor appointments in Asheville.
