Keep Homes Off Steep Slopes

The Brevard City Council reversed course last week, voting 3-2 against increasing construction slopes from grades of 25 percent or less to nearly 50 percent. It was a prudent reversal.

Earlier this month the council had voted 3-2 to support the new proposal, which also recommended changing the formula for calculating the standard for development on steep slopes within the city.
