School Board Delays Right-Of-Way Vote

The Transylvania County Board of Education has decided to delay a vote on providing the N.C. Department of Transportation (DOT) a right-of-way at Brevard High School.

The school board made the move during its recent meeting.

The DOT has offered $3,160 (the equivalent of $40,000 per acre) to purchase a right-of-way at Brevard High School for a 10-foot wide concrete sidewalk connecting the current sidewalk in front of the new gym and the driveway closest to Gallimore Road.

Board Chair Tawny McCoy, however, said she wanted to make clear that any sale to the DOT would not impact the planne...
