Rebekah Leonard Gentry, "Nana," 68, of Bogata, Texas, Red River County, passed away Jan. 15, 2019, at her home.

Born Aug. 8, 1950, in Greenville, S.C., she is predeceased by her parents, William and Dorothy Price Leonard, of Brevard.

A semi-retiree living in Bogata, the woman could not slow down. She loved nature and rescuing animals, no matter how injured or damaged.

She was gifted with a blessing to nurture and care for others. She frequently visited the senior center, bringing food and pies for all to enjoy.

An active member in her community, she helped others whenever possible. One of her greatest joys was spending quality time with her grandsons, Tyler and Levi.

Survivors include her two children, daughter, Elaina Fawn Osteen Adams, of Mount Vernon, Texas, and son, Travis Forrest Osteen and daughter-in-law, Tricia Osteen, of Mount Pleasant, Texas; grandsons, Tyler Forrest Osteen and Levi Keegan Osteen; sisters, Kathy, Cindy and Wendy; brothers, Toby and Timothy; nieces and nephews; as well as her beloved pets, Roxy, Daisy and Annie (dogs), Midnight and grey kitty (cats).

A private memorial was held at a private location in Mount Vernon. Her final wishes were for those to remember her during a beautiful sunset, or tossing a fishing line in the water on a beautiful day.

The family wishes to thank those who have extended financial and emotional support for her final arrangements.
