Guest Column: What Is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome And Its Risks To Pregnant Women, Children

As the obesity crisis continues to escalate in America, there is another emerging threat to women's health and their ability to have children. The threat is called polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). This is a hormonal imbalance often brought on by obesity and increases a woman's risk of Type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, as well as infertility and uterine cancer.
