2019 Polar Plunge Sets Participation Record

Feb. 23 was a cold and damp day. Many people felt how cold it truly was in the waters of Lake Atagahi in Connestee Falls as Special Olympics held its 5th annual Polar Plunge.

Sixty-five brave volunteers took the plunge to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics. The water was a chilling 48 degress, 10 degrees warmer than these same waters were last year.

A record was set this year as the number of plungers grew exponentially from previous years. Groups that joined in on the fun were: The Transylvania County Sheriff's Office, Brevard High School, Interact Club, Project Unify, Pisg...
