Henson Issued Criminal Summons

Protestors showed up Friday outside Brevard College, where N.C. Rep. Cody Henson had been scheduled to appear during a breakfast organized by the Brevard/Transylvania Chamber of Commerce. Chamber officials said Henson had informed them he would not attend.

The Transylvania County Sheriff's Office served a criminal summons Thursday to N.C. Rep. Cody Henson for one misdemeanor count of cyberstalking.

Kelsey Henson, the lawmaker's wife, filed the complaint on March 3. According to the summons, Henson allegedly "annoyed and harassed (the) victim with multiple text messages" from January 2018 through February 2019.

Henson, who represents District 113, which includes Transylvania County, is scheduled to appear in court on March 28.

District Attorney Greg Newman recused himself from the case because, he said, he supported Henson during last year...
