Panthers Claw Past Lady Blue Devils In Conference Clash

Blue Devil third baseman Brinley Horrell fouls off a pitch during Brevard's game against Franklin last Thursday. Brevard suffered its first loss of the year as the Panthers exploded for 10 runs in two innings, going on to win 16-6.

The Franklin Panthers came out ready to prove they were still the team to beat in the Mountain Six Conference last Thursday against Brevard.

And while the Lady Blue Devils dug themselves out of an early 4-0 deficit, Franklin exploded for 10 runs in two innings to win 16-6, scoring a crucial victory between what are expected to be the top two teams in the conference.

It was a slow start for Brevard, as they failed to get the bats going early and gave up two runs in both the first and second inning.

Brevard got back in the game, scoring six straight runs to take a 6-4 lead.
