Boys & Girls Club Names New Fundraising Leader

Kathleen de la Torre, a mother of two teens who were once members of the Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County, has been appointed the club's new resource development director, a key position that oversees fundraising to support the organization's million-dollar operation.

Donations from individuals, businesses, churches and other groups are critical to the club. Ninety percent of revenues come from donations and grants, with donations amounting to three quarters of that. The other 10 percent of revenues comes from fees and children's dues.
