Late Home Run Gives Tigers First SMC Loss Of Season

Holding a one-run lead in the top of the seventh, and needing just one out to get the win, a single swing of the bat was all it took to hand the Rosman Tigers their first conference loss of the season in agonizing fashion, as the Murphy Bulldogs stole a late 6-5 victory.

It was an afternoon where no lead felt safe, as the two teams see-sawed back and forth.

The difference-maker was Murphy freshman Briggs Cornwell, who finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs and a pair of home runs, including the game-winning, two-run bomb.
