Library To Showcase Local Family Histories

This mid-1880s Seth Thomas clock was owned by Robert and Rhoda Hamilton. Hamilton was the first sheriff of Transylvania County and a Union sympathizer. The clock was donated to the Transylvania County Historical Society by Oliver Orr Jr., a descendant of the Hamiltons.

Has your family lived in Transylvania County for multiple generations? Do you have family heirlooms and memorabilia you would like to display? A family Bible, great-grandma's quilt, papa's hand-carved walking stick, family china, a pocket watch or a brooch passed down from generation to generation.
