Betty Sue Parker

Betty Sue Parker, 67, passed away peacefully March 30, 2019, after a long battle with breast cancer.

She was born in Franklin, N.C., to Thomas Carlton and Margaret Kathleen. She was married to the love of her life, Donald Layton Parker, for 37 years, who preceded her in death in 2011.

She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured all time spent with her children. She especially loved her role as "Nana." She was generous and kind to everyone she knew.

She is survived by her five siblings, Bill Davis, of Greenville, S.C., Dorinda Owen, of Pisgah Forest, Ann Swangim, of Brevard, and Gary Davis and Randy Davis, both of Pisgah Forest; her children and their spouses, Tammy and Scott Martin, Terry and Mickey Hoxit, Layton and Angela Parker, Lorinda Parker and Jackson Reeves and Megan Parker; grandchildren, Ashley Hoyle and husband, Aaron, Jacop Hoxit and wife, Shannon, Joshua Hoxit, Caleb Kimsey, Makenna Parker, Dylan Kimsey, Mason Reeves, Caz Kimsey, Benjamin Parker and Kennedy Reeves. All of whom she loved deeply.


Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Turkey Creek Baptist Church at 11 a.m.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers donations can be mailed to Turkey Creek Baptist Church in memory of Betty Sue Parker, 805 Old NC 280 Highway, Pisgah Forest, NC 28768.
