Paul Steven Langa

Paul Steven Langa, 92, died of natural causes March 28, 2019, at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock. His death came barely a month after the passing of his wife of 68 years, Peggy Langa.

Born in Jersey City, N.J., he was the son of the late Steven and Lucille (Mabillot) Langa.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Following the war, he graduated from Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y.

He worked in personnel management for a number of organizations, including 20 years as a labor relation's director for the U.S. Postal Service.

He and his wife, Peggy, retired to the Brevard area in 1992.

In his youth, he was an accomplished fencer, winning the New Jersey State High School championship. In his later years, he was an avid golfer, bridge player and tinkerer. Even into his 90s, he would often be seen in his garage shop in College Walk working on his latest project.

He is survived by four children, Dr. Victoria Langa, of Cheswick, Pa., Melissa Langa, of Brookline Mass., and her husband, Jeff Wulfson, and Steven Langa, of Los Angeles, Calif., and his partner, Stacy Pickren and Dr. Jennifer Klaus, of Brookline; grandchildren, Kate Wulfson and partner, Mike Wang, Jim Wulfson, Rachael Langa, Tysen Klaus and Riley Klaus; and great-grandchildren, Pallas and Mars Wang.

A private interment service will be held at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Four Seasons Foundation or Hamilton College.
