Annual Bloomin' Plant Sale Aims To Provide Hope For Local Children

May 2, 2019

Nothing says spring like flowers.

Black Mountain Home for Children at Whitewater Cove will once again welcome the season with their Bloomin’ Sale May 8-11 at the Jiffy Lube on Asheville Highway in Brevard.

The annual sale partners with local nursery Blantyre Growers and the Brevard High School agriculture class to raise funds for Whitewater Cove, a satellite ministry primarily serving sibling groups in Transylvania County. Whether you are looking for flats of annuals and perennials, a hanging basket for Mother’s Day, or herbs and vegetables for your garden, a wide selection will be on hand. To offer an even better selection this year, two shipments have been scheduled on Wednesday and Friday.

Since launching the ministry at Whitewater Cove in 2013, the children’s home has been blessed to serve sibling groups who might otherwise have been split up among multiple foster homes.

Currently, staff is providing a safe, Christian home for a sibling group of three, plus a recent high school graduate and another high school youth, for a total of five.

The sibling group that was cared for last year has been adopted together into a forever home.

A special thank you to: Signature Sponsor—Brevard Davidson River Presbyterian Church; Supporting Sponsor —McNeely Industries; Annual Sponsors —Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, Dr. Taylor Townsend, D.D.S., T&K Utilities, Trent & Associates-Nationwide, Hendersonville Family Dental, & Charlie’s Tire and Jiffy Lube.

Join Black Mountain Home for Children in welcoming spring while making a positive difference in the lives of children.
