Tigers Survive Scare, Can Clinch SMC On Thursday

Tyler Owen fires to first base to help Rosman close out an 11-8 win over Andrews in the top of the seventh inning. Despite falling into an early five-run hole, the Tigers clawed their way back for the win and can lock up the Smoky Mountain Conference championship with a win over Robbinsville on Thursday.

Needing two wins in three days to lock up the Smoky Mountain Conference championship, the Rosman Tiger baseball team threw in an added degree of difficulty on Tuesday, spotting the Andrews Wildcats a 6-1 lead in the second inning before coming all the way back to claim an 11-8 victory.

The game was tied 1-1 after the first, before Murphy's Law punched the Tigers square in the face, as Andrews' first eight batters reached base safely before Rosman recorded an out.

And it suddenly looked like a celebratory occasion, with the Tigers honoring the team's seniors prior to the game, might turn...
