Tigers Take Down Black Knights For SMC Championship

The Rosman Tigers clinched the Smoky Mountain Conference baseball championship last Thursday with a 10-1 win over Robbinsville. Rosman finishes the season 17-3 and will be a top team to contend with as the 1A playoffs begin this week.

From start to finish, the Rosman Tigers were the best baseball team in the Smoky Mountain Conference, and now they have the hardware to prove it.

Needing a win over Robbinsville in their final regular season game to clinch the SMC title, Rosman came through with a 10-1 victory to give the Tigers their first conference championship in more than 15 years.

Rosman head coach Scotty Ruff said Thursday's result shows the kind of performance his team is capable of when they come out ready to play.
