Field Day

Rosman Elementary will hold its Field Day at 8:30 a.m. on June 8.

Upper French Broad Riverfest

A free, family oriented festival takes place riverside at Rosman’s Champion Park on June 22. Enjoy food trucks, music and lots of activities for kids, including tubing rides, archery, fishing, a scavenge hunt, live reptiles, balloons, face painting and more. Come watch the start of the 20-mile relay race, visit with vendors and celebrate the river. The day lasts from 10 a.m. until and 3:30 p.m.

DARE Graduation

DARE graduation for fifth-grade Rosman Elementary students will be held from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. on June 4.

Last School Day

School will be dismissed at noon on June 6.

Fourth Quarter Celebration

A celebration of accomplishments for Rosman Elementary students’ final quarter will be held from 8:15 a.m. until 9 a.m. at June 5.

Eastatoe Bingo

Eastatoe Community Center will be having its monthly bingo on Saturday, June 1. Food starts at 5 p.m. and bingo starts at 6 p.m. If anyone would like to make a donation, call Tina Craig at 577-0022 or bring it to the center that evening.

Memorial Benefit

A memorial benefit will be held June 15 at Quebec Community Center to help with new flooring for the community center. A bake sale begins at 8 a.m. BBQ plates will be sold beginning at 11:30 a.m. Bluegrass and gospel music will also begin at noon, with Mike and Laurie Pressley; The Mountain Mist Band at 1 p.m .; and followed by Ronnie Chapman, Nathan Chapman and The Slick Fisher Boys at 3 p.m. Raffles will be sold during the day for a carved bear, Dollywood tickets, Flat Rock Playhouse tickets, a skill saw and other items. Food sales for bingo will begin at 5 p.m. and bingo at 6 p.m. The benefit is also to honor Ellen and Rue Ayers for all the work they done over the years for the community center.

Two Teams: One Community

Rosman and Brevard Youth Football and Cheer are proud to join together for a benefit for both organizations on Saturday, June 1, at Brevard Little Theater. The fun begins at 10 a.m., with a cornhole tournament. Cody Siniard will perform at noon and followed by a car show at 1 p.m.

Caleb Gilbert will perform at 3 p.m. Bingo with awesome prizes will start at 6 p.m. Face painting, a bounce house, pie face, kettle corn, lemonade, dunking booth and a lot more fun will be available. Enjoy some Heavenly Hog BBQ, pizza, hot dogs, cotton candy, snow cones and more. Bring your family and support both these organizations.


The Rosman High graduating class of 2019 will be held at 10 a.m., June 8, at Brevard Music Center.

RHS Classes

The RHS class of 1961 meets at 9 a.m. every third Tuesday of the month for breakfast at The Country Skillet. The RHS class of 1962 meets the first Thursday of each month at The Country Skillet. The RHS class of 1963 meets at 9 a.m. on the second Thursday at The Skillet. The RHS class of 1964 meets at 5 p.m. on the second Friday of the month at The Skillet.

Food Pantry

Zion Baptist Church holds a food pantry the third Saturday of each month. No screening involved.


Birthday wishes go out to Bobi Gillespie, Kayla Rice, Ariel Galloway, Robbin Dodson, Anne Ramey, Linda Chapman, Jamie Dodson, Christie DeMoss, Ellen Leopard, Tracy Galloway, Jimmy Crowe, Jack Galloway, Tanya Eubanks and my son, Justin Parton, who all have birthdays this week.
