What's The Difference?

It seems that every year during the Memorial Day weekend many people don’t understand the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day. I cringe when people who recognize me as a veteran say, “Happy Memorial Day,” for this is a very somber and sad day on which we pay honor and respect to the veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

According to the VA, “Memorial Day is a day for remembering and honoring military personnel who died in the service of their country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle.”
