Normandy And Tiananmen

Today marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day, the invasion of Normandy by Allied Forces that helped lead to the end of World War II in Europe. The invasion did not occur without heavy costs, particularly at Omaha and Utah beaches where primarily American forces landed.

From June to August of 1944, approximately 225,000 Allied forces were killed, wounded or missing in action in Normandy. Of those, 134,000 were Americans.

The losses would have been much worse if there were not some brilliant deceptions employed by the Allies prior to the invasion. A phantom Army, including tanks and artillery,...
