Local Gets National Recognition For Trail

Brevard resident Chris “Shrimper” Khare was recently recognized on a national stage for his work constructing a new trail on nearby Weed Patch Mountain with local nonprofit Conserving Carolina.

Khare and Peter Barr, Conserving Carolina’s trail specialist and designer, worked together to create the new trail in the rugged wilderness of the Hickory Nut Gorge near the town of Lake Lure.
