On June 13 the Trump Administration and the U.S. Forest Service released a proposal to "streamline" environmental analysis on national forests and grasslands. The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requires that all actions receiving federal funding or occurring on federal land must have their environmental costs and benefits evaluated, and that during analysis, more than one alternative must be evaluated so that the trade-offs of various strategies can be understood and the best decision made.
