July 11, 2019

The Heart of Brevard (HOB), a designated Main Street Program since 1993, is seeking a qualified executive director.

Heath Seymour, who served as the executive director for more than five years, resigned in March to pursue a new opportunity in Louisville, Ky.

Jimmy Perkins, the HOB board’s president, said that while the board was sorry to see Seymour leave, they are happy for his next opportunity and excited about future possibilities.

“The HOB is in a strong and healthy position; the board of directors has worked on a strategic plan and we are excited to take this next transformative step to locate a new executive director who can lead the continued success of our organization,” said Perkins.

A 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, the HOB’s purpose is to maintain a vital downtown through economic development, design, promotion and organization. The HOB executive director develops strategies and implements programs within a downtown commercial/ residential district revitalization program that utilizes historic preservation as an integral foundation for economic development.
