To Whom Much Is Given

July 15, 2019

The United States is a nation that is referred to as being a “Christian Nation.”

In our Pledge of Allegiance we solemnly repeat with hand over heart “under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” We place our hand reverently on the Bible and swear “to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help me God.”

“In God we trust” is printed on our currency. This being said I would like to quote a passage from the Bible. “To whomsoever much has been given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been entrusted, of him a larger amount will be demanded. (Luke 12:48)

Because the United States has ordained itself a “Christian Nation” and much has been given to this nation, we have a responsibility to display compassion, tolerance, forgiveness, and to care for the poor and helpless.

When we as a nation mistreat men, women and children at our borders (or anywhere), when we violate our Earth and destroy it for profit, when we discriminate against our yellow man or woman, and when we allow a man such as Donald John Trump to be entrusted with our nation’s soul, we are no longer worthy of being called a “Christian Nation.”
