Cathey’s Creek Community Center

In The Bible Mission meets at the community center every Sunday morning. Sunday school/ Bible study begins at 10 a.m. and preaching service begins at 11 a.m. This past Sunday, Pastor Pete Lee brought the message. Carrol Fugate sang and played the guitar for the congregation. Visitors are always welcome to join them.

Cathey’s Creek History Project

The Cathey’s Creek history project is coming along. More folks are becoming interested. We welcome information, pictures and stories about the life and times of this community. Cathey’s Creek Baptist Church

The Primitive Quartet will be at Cathey’s Creek Baptist Church (CCBC) at 7 p.m., Saturday, July 27. Pastor Tony Lambert and the congregation extend a cordial invitation to all to attend.

Birthdays

Birthdays on July 21 are Vickie Trent, Luke Whitmire, Josh Alexander, Kiana Norris and the late Marshall Johnson. All were born in different years, but on the same day. We ought to make it a holiday. Birthdays at CCBC include Greg Camp and Sandy Chapman on July 20, Sidney McCall on July 23, Tommy Tilson on July 24, Phyllis Griffiths on July 25 and David Whitesides on July 19. Wishing all a very blessed day.

Golden Family Reunion

The annual Golden Family reunion will be held this Saturday, July 20, at the Cathey’s Creek Community Center. Please bring a covered dish, memories, pictures and stories. This year’s event is being hosted by Crystal Bracken.

Fifty Years Ago

Fifty years ago, on July 20, 1969, Apollo II’s Lunar Module touched down on the surface of the moon. Millions of people around the world watched as Commander Neil Armstrong, stepped foot on the moon, followed shortly by Buzz Aldrin while Michael Collins waited above. “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
