Congratulations

Diane Erwin Moore, age 76, of Brevard, has accomplished, fulfilled and achieved her life-long dream receiving her GED, graduating with the 2019 Class of Blue Ridge Community College on June 13 in Flat Rock. Her proudest moment of success while attending Blue Ridge was having her essay selected and published in the book “Voices” in the summer of 2015, with a photo of her and her great-granddaughter featured on the cover. With determination, commitment and hard work, the journey was not easy, but attainable by the grace of our Sovereign Lord Jesus Christ.

We, her children, are so honored to share this success story of our mother, who, being put out of high school in 1958 due to a teenage pregnancy, can now be called an “overcomer” and a “conqueror.” She has always inspired us to go after our dreams and she has now modeled it, making it her motto: “If you dream it, desire it, then go after it, letting no obstacles stand in the way.”

Mother persevered, always putting her life on hold, making sacrifices and letting nothing come before her children, now doing the same in raising her great-granddaughter (Daiesjah Harper) from birth.

We are so proud of her for her diligence in everything she has set out to accomplish. We are grateful for her love, values, morals and the inspiration given to each of us and those surrounding her. Because of her, we are who we are through Christ Jesus.

Diane would like to give many thanks to her church family (Bethel “A” Baptist), family, friends, Mayor Jimmy Harris, Chief of Police Phil Harris, and the Blue Ridge Community College in Flat Rock and Brevard for all their love and support along this journey.

Graciously Submitted by her children,

La Tanya, Kimmy, Lynn, Harry Jr. and Daiesjah and in memory of her eldest daughter, Rhonda Davis
