Remember the good old days when advertisers simply touted their products and stayed out of the culture wars?

Not Nike.

For reasons best known to its marketing department, the swoosh giant elevated washed-up quarterback Colin Kaepernick to hero status using the tag line, “Just do it, even if it means sacrificing everything.” “Doing it” was kneeling during the national anthem. “Sacrificing everything” was raking in millions of dollars for telling the lie that police officers target blacks.
