For the second year in a row in its short three-year history, Skyterra Wellness has earned a coveted nomination: Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor.

The Certificate of Excellence celebrates businesses that are consistently excellent, having earned great traveler reviews on TripAdvisor over the past year. Certificate of Excellence recipients include restaurants, accommodations and attractions worldwide that have continually delivered a quality customer experience.

“We are a small, intimate retreat that just celebrated our third year of operation, so this Certificate of Excellence has real magnitude for us once again,” said Skyterra Owner and Co-Founder Sue Crowell. “This award is about our staff all the ways we aim to provide our guests with life-changing experiences.”

The Certificate of Excellence accounts for the quality, quantity and recency of reviews submitted by travelers to Skyterra on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period. To qualify, Skyterra maintained an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five stars, and met the required number of guest-submitted reviews.

“TripAdvisor is excited to announce the recipients of the 2019 Certificate of Excellence, which for nearly a decade has celebrated businesses that have consistently received positive ratings from travelers and diners on the world’s largest travel platform,” said Neela Pal, Vice President of Brand, TripAdvisor. “This recognition allows us to publicly recognize businesses that are actively taking into account customer feedback to help travelers confidently experience the most highly reviewed places to eat, stay, and explore.”

Skyterra’s founders say in addition to the staff, the resort’s small size accounts for their superior customer reviews. While other resorts accommodate hundreds of visitors, Skyterra maintains a maximum capacity of just over 20 guests on its 300-acre wooded campus just outside of Brevard.

“The small size is intentional,” said Skyterra Owner and Co-Founder Teresa Ostler. “It guarantees an individualized experience, a healing environment and a high staff-to-guest ratio.”

Additionally, the locale – a wooded retreat in the mountains that includes a mountain-top lake – creates an intimacy, exclusivity and sense of community that keeps guests returning again and again, Crowell said.

“In fact, approximately 25 percent of Skyterra guests have booked at least one repeat stay,” she adds.

Skyterra opened in June 2016 as a holistic health retreat. As the retreat’s reputation grows, Crowell and Ostler remain committed to maintaining the boutique, world-class qualities that serve its guests so well. In addition to the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, the benefits of their approach are evident in the 5-Star average ratings from guest reviews on Google and Facebook. Guests call the experience transformative, life changing and an excellent travel value.

“Whenever you’re ready to set aside life’s obligations to focus on your own health and well-being, we are here for you,” Crowell said. “You deserve to feel better.”
