Bandel Shares N.C. And The Space Race At The Library

North Carolina is celebrating its role in man's journey to landing on the Moon through a variety of exhibits and events in a yearlong celebration. At 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15, Jessica Bandel will share stories abaout the people, places, chimps and things that helped make America's historic leap to the Moon in the library's Rogow Room.

Bandel is the digital editor with the historical research office for the N.C. Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. She is taking a digital version of the N.C. Museum of History's 2019 exhibit, "One Giant Leap: North Carolina and the Space Race," on the road to share with those who cannot visit Raleigh.

The presentation examines North Carolina's role in the space exploration of the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs. The Raleigh exhibit is open at the N.C. Museum of History through Jan. 5.
