Ecusta Road Roundabout Nearing Construction – Brevard, NC

August 8, 2019

The public is encouraged to keep a lookout for the closing of Ecusta Road as work is scheduled to begin on building a roundabout.

The roundabout – at the intersection of Ecusta Road and the connector road under construction between the Asheville Highway and the New Hendersonville Highway – will take 60 days to complete, according to the N.C. Department of Transportation (DOT).

On Aug. 2, DOT leadership and stakeholders from manufacturing businesses met to review the Traffic Control Detour Plan (see page 12A) for Ecusta Road in preparation for the temporary closure.

Ecusta Road serves as the primary transportation route for employees, visitors and heavy truck traffic for manufacturing and commercial operations located in the Jennings Business Park, Old Hendersonville Highway and Ecusta Road.

The traffic control plan is designed to help safely move car and truck traffic through the community with as little negative impact as possible.

Manufacturers and other businesses with immediate concerns are encouraged to contact the DOT Mills River office at (828) 891-7911.

For general questions, industrial stakeholders are also free to contact the Transylvania Economic Alliance at (828) 393-4130.
