August 15, 2019

Thomas E. Dancy, 70, passed away July 28, 2019, at his residence.

Born in Chattanooga, Tenn., he moved to Brevard in 1983.

He served in the United States Air Force as a young man, and started working at the Citizens Telephone Company, now Comporium, from 1985 until 2019.

Anyone knew him would say he was a godly man, generous, loved to speak the truth, talked your ear off, was funny and quick with anything you threw at him. There was never a dull moment and he always kept a smile on your face.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Dancy, of Williamson Creek; two daughters, Tamara (Ronnie) Slaven, of Sale Creek, Tenn., and Tabatha (Brandon) French, of Hixson, Tenn .; three grandchildren, Christopher Slaven, Savannah Slaven and Blake Buchanan; and five great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, at noon at Connestee Falls Fire Rescue in Brevard, where stories will be shared and food will be provided.
