NAACP To Hold Weekly Moral Monday Witness

Inspired by its President William Barber, North Carolina’s NAACP launched a weekly protest of the state legislature in the spring of 2013. Over several years, thousands of North Carolinians, including many Transylvanians, participated in these “Moral Monday” protests on behalf of racial, economic, gender, sexual and environmental justice. More than 1,000 of the demonstrators were arrested for non-violent civil disobedience during the Moral Monday protests in Raleigh.
