The Tragedy At Our Border

On a recent morning, my wife, Margaret, and I, who in our careers often worked together as family therapists, were in a queue of vehicles inching into Gwynn Valley camp. This was a sweet reunion, parents and grandparents yearning to see our children, the kids waiting to embrace us and tell us their stories of two weeks in a safe and protective camp.

Waiting in this long line, Margaret and I talked about the families on the Mexico border, essentially stateless, desperate to bring their children out of the dangers of climate-driven poverty and away from the murderous gangs in their cities....
