The Chamber's Surprise Patrol celebrates member The Bike Farm.

The Surprise Patrol Team at the Brevard/ Transylvania Chamber of Commerce conducted its second mission of 2019 on Tuesday, Aug. 27. Armed with noise makers, silly accessories and some goodies, chamber staff Clark Lovelace, Emily Crowley Martin and chamber ambassadors Kathy Mlay, Brittany Marcum and Amber Webb, set out to surprise four chamber businesses in the Pisgah Forest area. Workout Anytime Brevard sponsored the patrol, showing their support of their fellow chamber members and allowing the team to conduct their lively mission.

Pisgah Coffee Roasters, The Bike Farm, Carmichael Training Systems and The Cradle of Forestry in America Interpretive Association all received a warm and boisterous greeting accompanied by a box of delicious cookies from Blue Ridge Bakery, a gift certificate for $100 in free advertising from WSQL radio, and a public celebration of their business through local media and chamber e-news. The team also surprised two of the Chamber's members who work from home. Instead of barging into their home unannounced, they both answered an excited phone call from the Surprise Patrol Team and received a celebratory email to thank them for their membership and involvement. Jenni Chandler of Jenni Chandler Photography and Gavin Griffin of RoSYNTHORN were the lucky recipients of the surprise phone call and a WSQL radio gift certificate.

The chamber team conducts Surprise Patrols a few times a year as a simple thank you to its members, who are selected randomly for each patrol. This event is a fun way to show appreciation for the dedication of their members and to celebrate them with the community as a whole!
