County Schools Get Bs and Cs In State Report Card – Transylvania County, NC

“The majority of our schools are B schools,” Missy Ellenberger, curriculum director for Transylvania County Schools, told the Transylvania County Board of Education Monday evening.

Five of the county’s eight schools received a B. (Davidson River School, an alternative school, did not receive a grade.)

A school’s report card is based 80 percent on proficiency and 20 percent on growth. Four of the schools exceeded their expected growth, two met their expected growth and two did not meet their expected growth.
