Glancing Back: Lt. Richard Snowdon Is Killed In Vietnam

The following briefs are from Thursday, Sept. 25, 1969 edition of The Transylvania Times.

First Lt. Richard Atwood Snowdon, age 31, of West Columbia, S.C., and Cedar Mountain, was killed near Siagon, Vietnam, on Sept. 17, in a helicopter accident. A helicopter pilot, Snowdon was the recipient of the Cross of Gallantry. This was his second tour of duty, having volunteered for service in Vietnam. Prior to service in the Armed Forces, Snowdon worked at both Olin and at DuPont.
