We, The People

September 23, 2019

Our Constitution begins with the words “We, the People, of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union.” With these words our forefathers created a roadmap for our country, but we, the people, are left with the responsibility of carrying out and fulfilling that grand mission.

As citizens we have the duty to seek the truth, fight for justice, and elect people who will faithfully represent the well being of all people in our great country. If we fail to execute our responsibility the United States and our democracy will crumble.

Finding the truth and seeking justice is not an easy task. We live in a world of social media where the truth is distorted, injustice becomes common place, and words divide people. A country divided will fall and those elected officials who encourage division seek only their personal gain of power and money.

Our children are confronted with climate change, disgraceful immigration policies, racial injustice, threats of war, gun violence, poverty and corruption in the current administration. We have two choices. Either we throw our hands up and surrender or we fight to preserve our nation. We, the people, are the force behind our government. We must seek truthful, realistic solutions to our problems. When we vote we must educate ourselves and hear the truth. Deceit and lies must be unveiled if we are to survive.
