Nonprofit Partners In New Camping Option – Transylvania County, NC

A ribbon cutting was held Tuesday evening for a new group campground, Cherryfield Creek, a partnership between the nonprofit Cradle of Forestry Interpretive Association (CFAIA) and local developer Josh Leder.

The campground is located on Still Waters Lane in the Cherryfield Road and Heartwood Hollow area of the county.

"It's a new camping model," said Julie Dennis, with the CFAIA. "It's different than anything else."

Described as a cross between glamping and camping, she said it is designed for weddings, retreats and corporate events.
