This week, Sept. 22-28, is Banned Books Week, an annual event that highlights efforts to ban books in public schools and libraries. Some of the books that people have attempted to ban – successfully or not – include some of the most important and popular works of the last two centuries: “The Catcher in the Rye,” “The Color Purple,” “To Kill A Mockingbird,” “Of Mice and Men,” “Animal Farm,” “The Great Gatsby,” “Brave New World,” “The Lord of the Rings,” “All Quiet on the Western Front,” “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” “The Call of the Wild...
