Bulldogs Pull Away From Tigers In Rain-Soaked Contest

Covered in mud and drenched in rain, Rosman quarterback Brennan Chapman comes to the sidelines to towel off during the Tigers' road game at Murphy on Friday. Heavy rain hindered both teams, but in the end, the Bulldogs came away with a 43-6 victory.

As former Rosman head coach Jim Fox used to say, "The Smoky Mountain Conference is like a fist fight in a ditch."

That was how Friday night's matchup with Murphy started out, and the Rosman Tigers' defense came ready to play.

As the rain picked up hours before the game and continued throughout most of the contest, Murphy's home turf looked like a slip- and-slide rather than a football field.

The Tigers seemed to enjoy the weather, and played inspired football for most of the first half.

But Rosman couldn't escape the big plays, especially in the second half, as the Bulldogs went on...
