NC Songsmiths is partnering with 185 King Street as its first Brevard venue on the NC Songsmith tour circuit.

NC Songsmiths is a collective of premiere songwriters from North Carolina, anchored by founders Bob Funck and Brian Hill of Durham, N.C., and facilitator Christina Chandler of Marshall, N.C. Hill and Chandler partnered up to form EchoMix Artists in January of 2018, and the NC Songsmiths Tour Series launched in June of 2018. Weekly tours have been running ever since, resulting in over 500 performances to date.

Tours are booked from a collective of more than 50 songwriters, handpicked from across the state of North Carolina spanning assorted genres and instrumentations. Just as iconic Carolina artists like Nina Simone, Doc Watson, The Avett Brothers, Carolina Chocolate Drops and James Taylor have all risen to international success and cemented North Carolina as an apex for original music, NC Songsmiths come from all walks of life, each bringing their own unique brand, sound and story.

This original music series is designed to be an event patrons can attend weekly as the Songsmiths are in a constant rotation throughout the year, each presenting their own catalogue of music. The NC Songsmiths shows are intended for the serious listener, giving way for the songsmiths to reach into their extensive song vaults, bringing to life some of the very best original music from the Old North State.

185 King Street is the first Brevard venue to host the NC Songsmith tour series. Madeline Magin and Cody Noble have recently taken over as the new owners of 185 King Street.

The NC Songsmith tour series is every Wednesday night from Nov. 6 through Dec. 11. The artist lineup is as follows:

Nov. 6 - Alex Krug

Nov. 13 - Laura Blackley

Nov. 20 - Melissa Hyman

Nov. 27 - Heather Taylor Trio

Dec. 4 - Soleil LeBlanc

Dec. 11 - Ryan Furstenburg

The performances start at 8 p.m. 185 King Street is located at 185 King Street in the Lumberyard district of Brevard. To find out more about 185 King Street visit their website at http://www.185kingst.com.
