Muddy Sneakers To Host Mountainfilm Tour Nov. 23

November 4, 2019

In Muddy Sneakers, students learn to get comfortable in the woods and with all the aspects of nature. A student at Pisgah Forest Elementary got up close and personal with local wildlife while in the outdoor classroom at DuPont State Recreational Forest.

This fall, Muddy Sneakers will host Asheville's only screening of Mountainfilm on Tour Saturday, Nov. 23, at The Orange Peel in Asheville.

The evening will feature a selection of culturally rich, adventure-packed, and inspiring documentary films curated from the Mountainfilm festival in Telluride, Colo. This year's lineup includes thoughtful storytelling and dazzling cinematography exploring themes connected to Mountainfilm's mission: using the power of film, art, and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world.

A Mountainfilm presenter will guide the audience through the program, providing insight on the films, filmmakers, and subjects. Doors open at 6 p.m .; films start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 for general admission seating.

All proceeds benefit programming at Muddy Sneakers, a Brevard-based nonprofit that introduces a growing number of students across the state to the joy of learning outside.

This school year, Muddy Sneakers will serve more than 3,450 students in at least 45 schools across 17 counties in North Carolina. Tickets are available at http://www.muddysneakers.org/mountainfilm or bit.ly/mountainfilmtickets.
