Mountain Roots Plans Fall Feast At Lola's Old Hickory House

November 11, 2019

Mountain Roots is gearing up to hold its second annual Fall Feast from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 17, at Lola’s Old Hickory House. Last year’s event had a great turnout, and Mountain Roots is hoping to have an even larger event this year.

The Fall Feast will feature music, indoor and outdoor activities, a silent auction and food provided by Lola’s Old Hickory House. Activities will include crafts for both young and older children, as well as a cornhole tournament. Dozens of local artists and businesses contributed items for the silent auction last year, and this year’s event will have many local offerings up for auction again.

This year’s entertainment will again be provided by Josh Carter and friends. There will also be a live artist event – the opportunity to watch artists create a work onsite, which will then be auctioned off, along with other items.

The Fall Feast is the primary fundraiser for Mountain Roots, Inc., which provides discovery and outdoor learning experiences with a focus on environmentally responsible community-centered living. In addition to day camps each summer, Mountain Roots also provides outdoor education in Transylvania County Schools and beyond. Mountain Roots also offers Outdoor Education programs in the form of all-day or overnight field trips, retreats, leadership training and weekend programs.

Tickets are available at http://www.brownpapertickets.com, and event details can be found at the event’s Facebook page.
