City Places Moratorium On Moving Electronic Signs – Brevard, NC

Last week, Brevard City Council approved a six-month prohibition, or moratorium, on permitting moving, electronic display signs.

The purpose, according to the city’s Planning Department during last week’s council meeting, is to suspend the application process until a new ordinance can be drafted on the use of these signs based on a ruling in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit.

The moratorium will have no impact on existing signs.
